This cabinet is padauk. Cocobolo was used for the door panel as well as the drawer fronts. Door and drawer handles are ebony. The drawer sides, backs, and bottoms are mahogany.
Spline tenons were used for the case joinery. The curved rails of the door and the curved door panel are bent laminations. Also the drawer fronts are bent laminated with cross-grain orientation and have walnut plies for the core.
The door is knife-hinged and closes with a bullet catch. There are five drawers with black velvet lining. The finish is a hand-rubbed oil/varnish mixture and wax.
