This was the first in the "serpentine" series. The woods used for this piece are purpleheart, birdseye maple and ebony. The door panel and drawer fronts are birdseye and the handles are ebony.
The grain on the drawer fronts is sequential and matched from drawer to drawer. The case is joined with spline tenons. The door and back of cabinet is frame and panel construction. The curved door rails and drawer fronts are glue laminated on serpentine shaped forms.
There are five drawers, lined with black velvet. Brusso knife hinges and bullet catches make up the hardware. The finish is a hand-rubbed oil/varnish and wax.
